The porcelain manufactory "Metzler and Ortloff" was founded in Thuringia (Germany) in 1875. Specialized in the manufacture of household and decorative items, toys and doll heads made of porcelain. In 1910, at the World Exhibition in Brussels, the company was awarded the Gold Medal for research and development in the field of underglaze porcelain painting. In 1972, the factory was nationalized and turned into V.E.B. Kunstporzellan. This factory ceased production in 1976.
